The OSG HP434-1961 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. It features a 5 mm cutting diameter, a 0.5 mm corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree medium helix angle. The cutting length is 13 mm, with an overall length of 80 mm and a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank. A TiAlN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, extending tool life when cutting abrasive or high-temperature materials. This tool is centercutting and handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
The HP434-1961 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The corner radius geometry reduces edge chipping and stress concentration at the bottom of the cut, making it effective for profile milling, slot milling, and contouring operations in precision machining environments. It mounts in a standard toolholder with a straight-cylindrical shank and is appropriate for CNC machining centers running ferrous and exotic alloy workpieces where tool life and surface finish are critical.
Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical bore toolholders. Part of the OSG HP434 series, compatible with CNC machining centers and mills accepting a 6 mm shank diameter. Mill diameter tolerance is 0.00 to -0.04 mm; shank diameter tolerance is h6.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Confirm toolholder bore cleanliness and proper runout before securing the shank. Avoid overtightening set screws or collet nuts beyond toolholder manufacturer specifications to prevent shank damage. Verify cutting parameters against the workpiece material category before beginning a new operation.
