The OSG HP434-1181 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 3 mm cutting diameter with a 0.2 mm corner radius, 4 flutes, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating for extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The 8 mm length of cut and 60 mm overall length make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. The medium helix geometry and centercutting capability allow both plunge and lateral entry. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is built for roughing and finishing operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The HP434 series is engineered for use in toolholders with a straight cylindrical shank, and the 6 mm shank diameter fits standard collet and hydraulic toolholding systems. It is a single-end, right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with normal pitch and no chipbreaker, making it a general-purpose choice for shops running a variety of material types on CNC machining centers and mills.
Designed for use with standard collet, hydraulic, or shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills capable of running small-diameter solid carbide tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended gauge length in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cutting, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on small-diameter carbide tools.
