The OSG HP413-1875 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the Hy-Pro-Carb HP413 series, engineered for both roughing and finishing operations in demanding machining environments. It features a 0.1875 inch mill diameter, a 2-flute helical configuration with a 30-degree helix angle, and a TiAlN PVD coating that provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in abrasive cutting conditions. The submicron carbide grade construction gives this end mill the rigidity needed to hold tight tolerances at elevated feed rates. It is a single-end, right-hand cut tool designed for use on CNC machining centers and mills operated by machinists and toolroom professionals.
The HP413-1875 is suited for machining steel, cast iron, and hard materials in both production and toolroom settings. Its extended reach geometry, with a 0.9375 inch reach length and 0.75 inch neck length, allows access to deep pockets and stepped features that standard-length end mills cannot reach. The straight-cylindrical shank and 0.25 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. This tool handles both roughing and finishing passes, reducing the need for multiple tool changes in multi-step operations.
Designed for machining steel, cast iron, and hard materials (material codes P, K, H). Fits standard 0.25 inch collet chucks and end mill holders with a straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG HP413 series of performance end mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Use a calibrated torque wrench when tightening collet nuts to the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a small-diameter end mill of this type.
