It is constructed from solid carbide and features an EgiAs coating designed to extend tool life and improve chip evacuation under demanding cutting conditions. The 4.00 mm diameter bit runs at a 140-degree point angle with an R-thinned point geometry, which reduces thrust and improves centering at entry. Overall length is 66.00 mm (2.5984 inches) with a 24.00 mm flute length. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter. This bit is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production drilling environments.
The HP243-1575 fits screw machine length drilling applications where a compact, rigid drill is preferred over jobber or long-series lengths. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute configuration make it well suited for short-hole drilling in ferrous materials including steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. It is a right-hand cutting tool intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual or automatic screw machines. Coolant-through is not supported on this model. The tapered web configuration pairs with the R-thinned point to reduce walking and improve hole entry accuracy without a center drill in many setups.
