The OSG 9599052 is a high-performance jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in ferrous and high-strength materials. Built from XPM high-speed steel and finished with a V (vanadium) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life in demanding production and maintenance environments. The 130-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry promotes self-centering entry and reduces thrust force at the start of the cut. At 70 millimeters overall length with a 26-millimeter flute length, it handles typical jobber-depth applications across a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloys will find this an effective daily driver for blind-hole and cross-hole work.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling, pilot drilling, and self-centering operations in shop and field environments. It is intended for use in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy workpieces, covering material codes P, K, S, and H. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Typical applications include blind holes, through holes, cross holes, and pilot drilling sequences on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld power tools. The regular spiral flute type clears chips efficiently in right-hand rotation setups.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and nickel alloy workpieces (material codes P, K, S, H). Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 6.00-millimeter straight-cylindrical shank.
This bit is installed and operated by machinists or maintenance technicians using a drill press, CNC machining center, or handheld power drill. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material before cutting. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use surface-applied cutting fluid where the workpiece material requires lubrication. Inspect the cutting edges and web condition before each use and replace the bit when chipping or wear is observed to maintain hole-size tolerance.
