The OSG 90100111 is a 5-flute solid carbide ball end mill from the OSG Series 9010 Exocarbmax line, engineered for high-performance milling in hardened steels over 55 Rc. The tool measures 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch) in mill diameter with a 30-degree helix angle and a WXS PVD coating designed to extend tool life in demanding ferrous and hard-material applications. The 1/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 2.0-inch overall length make it compatible with standard toolholders. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting and flute-direction tool with spiral flutes and an ultra-fine micrograin carbide grade, suited for both roughing and finishing passes in precision machining environments.
This ball end mill is intended for machining steel, cast iron, hard materials, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Its stub-length configuration and 3/64-inch length of cut make it well suited for tight-clearance features, fine detail work, and finish milling in die and mold applications or precision component manufacturing where hardened workpiece materials are common. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC milling centers will find this tool appropriate for high-hardness applications requiring a small-diameter ball profile.
Designed for use on CNC milling machines with standard 1/4-inch straight-shank toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO P, K, H); secondary materials include stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium (ISO M, S). Part of the OSG Series 9010 Exocarbmax line for hardened steels over 55 Rc.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and in a safe, locked-out state per shop safety procedures. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck is clean and within specified runout tolerances before seating the shank, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate tool wear and reduce accuracy. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or axial engagement for the workpiece material and hardness. Refer to OSG Series 9010 speeds and feeds documentation for programmed cutting parameters.
