The OSG 8695000 is a taper length solid carbide drill bit designed for demanding hole-making applications where standard-length drills fall short. Built to Series 6520 specifications, it features a 140-degree split point with X-thinned web geometry that reduces thrust force and improves centering on entry. The EgiAs coating provides surface hardness and heat resistance to extend tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 0.3937 inches (10 mm) in diameter with a flute-to-diameter ratio of 8xD, this drill is engineered for deep-hole work in production environments. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management at depth. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals.
The OSG 8695000 is suited for metalworking applications requiring deep, accurate bores in steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The 8xD flute length accommodates holes significantly deeper than those achievable with standard jobber-length drills. The straight-cylindrical shank fits ER collet chucks, hydraulic chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders common in CNC machining centers and drill presses. Right-hand spiral flutes promote chip evacuation upward and out of the bore. This bit is appropriate for both through-hole and blind-hole applications where coolant-through delivery is available.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production drill for use in straight-shank toolholders accepting a 10 mm cylindrical shank, including ER collet chucks and hydraulic chucks on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is powered down before loading or removing the tool from the holder. Verify collet or chuck bore matches the 10 mm shank diameter and that the tool is seated and clamped to the depth specified by the toolholder manufacturer. When using coolant-through capability, confirm coolant supply pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the toolholder and spindle before beginning the cut.
