The OSG 8692880 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and hard-to-machine materials. It features an 8.80 mm diameter, a 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry, and an EgiAs coating that extends tool life in demanding cut conditions. The overall length is 128.00 mm with a 71.00 mm flute length and a 9.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. This drill is part of OSG Series 6510 and is intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in production or job shop environments.
This drill is built for drilling into steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys — material groups P, K, S, and H. It supports blind hole, cross hole, and self-centering drilling applications at a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for deeper cuts and chip evacuation in CNC machining centers and drill presses where internal coolant delivery is available.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production tooling option for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups requiring a 8.80 mm solid carbide jobber drill in material groups P, K, S, and H.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a locked-out state per applicable shop safety procedures. Confirm collet or chuck bore accommodates the 9.00 mm shank before mounting. When using coolant-through capability, verify that machine coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the toolholder and spindle setup. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being machined.
