The OSG 8692600 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. Ground to a 6 mm diameter with a 140-degree point angle and R-thinned web, it delivers self-centering entry and reduced thrust in demanding applications. The EgiAs coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life. With a 100 mm overall length and 48 mm flute length at a 5xD ratio, this bit is built for productive blind-hole and cross-hole work where dimensional accuracy matters. Cutting direction is right-hand with a regular spiral flute geometry and a straight-cylindrical shank for standard chuck mounting.
This drill bit is designed for machining steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys — material codes P, K, S, and H. It suits CNC machining centers and manual drill presses used in production shops, fabrication, and maintenance environments. The coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, making it well suited for deep blind-hole drilling where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. A diameter tolerance of +0 to -0.018 mm supports close-tolerance work without secondary reaming in many applications.
Rated for use in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy workpieces (ISO material codes P, K, S, H). Compatible with Series 6510 OSG tooling specifications and suitable for tool applications including blind hole, cross hole, standard drilling, and self-centering operations.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection for carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before engaging the cut. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that the machine tool spindle supports internal coolant delivery at the required pressure. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and sensitive to side loading or interrupted cuts without proper support.
