The OSG 8690560 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and metalworking applications. At 5.6 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and R-thinned web, this bit reduces thrust force and improves centering accuracy on entry. The overall length is 82 mm (3.2283 inches), keeping the tool compact and rigid for stub-length drilling operations. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix and a 28 mm flute length provide efficient chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for high-speed, production-environment drilling where heat management is critical. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6 mm in diameter and seats securely in standard collet chucks or drill adapters.
This bit is built for professionals drilling steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys in machine shop, maintenance, and production environments. Installation and use of carbide drill bits should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Carbide is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper setup, or dropping the tool, as chipping or fracture can result.
