The OSG 8672800 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. It features an 8.00 mm diameter, a 140-degree R-thinned point for self-centering entry, and an EgiAs coating to reduce friction and extend tool life. The overall length is 91.00 mm with a 53.00 mm flute length, and the 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides effective chip evacuation in moderate-depth applications. Right-hand spiral flutes with a tapered web and regular spiral type make this bit suitable for consistent, repeatable results in production and maintenance environments. It is intended for installation and use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and industrial maintenance technicians.
This drill bit is rated for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. It is suited for blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, general drilling operations, and self-centering applications where point geometry matters. Power down the machine completely before changing tooling. Apply external cutting fluid when drilling harder ferrous alloys to manage heat at the cutting edge.
