The OSG 8672380 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. It carries an EgiAs coating for extended tool life and reduced friction in demanding cutting applications. The 140-degree point angle with X-Thinned web geometry promotes self-centering entry and cleaner hole initiation without a pilot. At 3.80mm in diameter with a 74.00mm overall length, this bit suits precision drilling tasks where consistent hole tolerance is critical. It is sized to wire gauge 25 and holds a diameter tolerance of plus 0 to minus 0.018mm. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC machining centers are the primary users of this tool.
This jobber drill is suited for blind hole, cross hole, standard drilling, and self-centering applications across steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. It carries a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, making it appropriate for moderate-depth holes in production and job-shop environments. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. It does not support coolant-through delivery, so external flood or mist coolant is recommended when cutting harder materials or running at elevated feed rates.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces with primary workpiece material codes P, K, and H. Fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 4.00mm straight-cylindrical shank.
This drill bit is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in machine tool applications. Secure the shank fully in a collet or chuck before operation and verify runout before beginning a production run. External coolant or cutting fluid is recommended when drilling steel or cast iron at production feed rates, as this bit does not support internal coolant-through delivery. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds.
