The OSG 8672320 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. It measures 3.2 mm in diameter with an overall length of 74 mm and a flute length of 28 mm. The 140-degree X-thinned point reduces thrust on entry and promotes self-centering without a pilot hole. The EgiAs coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding production environments. With a straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 4.0 mm, it seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. This bit is suited for machinists, tool and die technicians, and production operators running CNC or manual drilling operations.
The OSG 8672320 is designed for drilling into steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. It handles blind holes, cross holes, through-hole drilling, and self-centering applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides sufficient chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes. It is well suited for job shop and production floor use where consistent hole quality in hard ferrous materials is required. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling at higher speeds or feed rates in tough alloys.
Designed for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. Primary workpiece material codes P, K, and H. Part of OSG Series 6310.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance. No coolant-through channel is present on this bit, so apply external cutting fluid to the work zone when drilling hard alloys at production feed rates. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace when diameter tolerance or point geometry is compromised.
