The OSG 8670320 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Built from solid carbide with a coated finish, this bit delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for demanding production environments. The 140-degree drill point angle suits harder workpiece materials, and the X-thinned web reduces thrust and improves penetration in steel and alloy steel. At 0.126 inches (3.20 mm) in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard drill chucks and collet systems without adaptation. This bit is installed by machinists and tool-and-die technicians in CNC and manual drilling applications.
The OSG 8670320 is intended for screw machine length drilling operations where a shorter, stiffer bit is preferred over jobber length for improved accuracy and reduced deflection. Primary workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. The right-hand spiral flute configuration suits standard spindle rotation, and the 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes. This bit is a Series 6300 tool and fits production drilling setups where consistent hole tolerance is required.
Rated for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 4.00 mm (approximately 0.157 inches) shank diameter. Part of the OSG Series 6300 screw machine length drill bit family.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is torqued to the tool holder specification before operation. Do not use this bit in non-ferrous materials not listed in the workpiece material rating, as cutting geometry is optimized for ferrous stock. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use external coolant application if required by the machining process.
