The OSG 8667464 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. It measures 4.64 mm in diameter with an overall length of 95 mm and a flute length of 42 mm. The 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry promotes self-centering and reduces thrust force on entry. WXL coating enhances wear resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in demanding production environments. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 5.00 mm in diameter and fits standard drill chucks. This bit is sold individually and suited for use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians working with precision drilling applications.
The OSG 8667464 is rated for drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy, corresponding to material codes P, M, K, and S. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in deeper cuts. The two-spiral flutes with regular spiral geometry handle blind hole, cross hole, through-hole drilling, and self-centering operations. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for high-speed CNC machining centers where internal coolant delivery is available, helping to control heat and extend edge life in interrupted or continuous cuts on difficult alloys.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses capable of accepting a 5.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy (material codes P, M, K, S). Part of OSG Series 5210.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the bit. Solid carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel and should not be used in hand-held drills or flexible setups where lateral load cannot be controlled. When coolant-through capability is used, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are compatible with the machine spindle before operation.
