The OSG 8665910 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from solid carbide and finished with OSG's WXL coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and consistent performance when working through hard and abrasive materials. The 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web reduces thrust and improves centering at entry. With a 9.10 mm diameter (0.3583 inch) and an overall length of 106 mm (4.17 inches), it fits short-reach drilling setups common in production and machining environments. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed machining by evacuating chips and controlling heat at the cutting zone. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC and manual drilling equipment.
This drill bit is suited for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy workpieces. The screw machine length format — shorter than jobber length — provides rigidity and reduced deflection, making it well matched for tight-tolerance hole production in fixture work, production runs, and prototype machining. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders across a wide range of machine spindles.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy workpieces. Fits standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Drill bit diameter falls within the 8.00 to 9.50 mm size range of the OSG Series 5200 line.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for solid carbide tooling before running; carbide is brittle and susceptible to fracture from improper feeds or interrupted cuts. Ensure the shank is fully seated and securely clamped in the chuck or collet before engaging the workpiece. Coolant supply lines should be confirmed active when using the coolant-through feature to prevent thermal shock to the cutting edge.
