The OSG 8665560 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from solid carbide and coated with OSG WXL finish, this bit delivers extended tool life and reduced cutting forces in hard and abrasive materials. The 140-degree point angle with R-thinned web geometry improves self-centering and reduces thrust on entry. At 82 millimeters overall length with a 28-millimeter flute length, the stub-style body provides rigidity and minimizes deflection in short-reach setups. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix handle chip evacuation efficiently. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed drilling cycles in production environments.
This drill bit is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. The screw machine length format is a standard choice for CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses where a short, stiff tool is preferred over jobber length. The straight-cylindrical shank at 6 millimeters diameter seats directly in standard collet chucks, drill chucks, and hydraulic toolholders without adapters. It fits the OSG Series 5200 lineup and is appropriate for high-volume production runs and toolroom work alike.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy workpieces. Part of the OSG Series 5200 screw machine length carbide drill family, covering the 5.00 to 6.50 millimeter diameter range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. Verify collet or chuck bore matches the 6-millimeter shank diameter before seating the tool. Confirm coolant-through lines are clear and pressure is set per the machining center specifications before initiating a drilling cycle. Do not use this bit in hand-held drilling operations.
