The OSG 8623085 is a Series 1750 extra length cobalt drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. It features a 0.3346-inch diameter, a 120-degree standard point angle, and a WXL finish that extends tool life in demanding applications. At 225 millimeters (approximately 8.86 inches) overall length with a 154-millimeter (approximately 6.06-inch) flute length, this bit reaches deeper than standard-length drills. The fast spiral, two-flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation. Web thinning (R-Thinned) reduces thrust force at entry. This tool is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance professionals working in metal fabrication and production environments.
The OSG 8623085 is suited for drilling through ferrous metals, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys where extra reach is required. The M6K cobalt grade and WXL finish make it appropriate for dry cutting or minimal-lubrication applications. Typical use cases include deep-hole drilling in structural steel, plate fabrication, aerospace components, and toolroom work where standard-length bits cannot reach the required depth. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and CNC spindle operation.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use extra length drill bit for applications requiring a 0.3346-inch (8.50 mm) diameter straight-shank cobalt drill in conventional drill press, mill, or CNC spindle setups accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of equal diameter.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with metal-cutting operations. Ensure the spindle and chuck are fully powered down and at rest before inserting or removing the bit. Verify chuck or collet capacity matches the 0.3346-inch shank diameter and that the bit is fully seated and secured before starting the spindle. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the material grade being drilled.
