The OSG 8623060 is an extra length cobalt steel drill bit designed for deep-hole drilling in tough materials where standard-length bits fall short. Built to Series 1750 specs, it carries a WXL finish that improves chip evacuation and extends tool life in high-demand cutting applications. The bit measures 6.00 mm (0.2362 inches) in diameter with a 170 mm overall length and a 108 mm flute length, giving machinists and toolroom technicians the reach needed for deep-hole work without sacrificing rigidity. The 120-degree point angle suits general-purpose drilling in steel, stainless, and other hard alloys. Right-hand cutting with a fast spiral keeps chips moving efficiently out of the hole.
This bit is suited for metalworking applications in job shops, maintenance and repair operations, and production environments where cobalt tooling is specified for alloy steels, stainless steels, titanium, and heat-resistant materials. The extra length design is commonly used when workpiece geometry, fixturing, or setup depth prevents use of a jobber-length drill. It installs in standard drill chucks, collet holders, and drill press spindles that accept a straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed as an OSG Series 1750 extra length cobalt drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.2362-inch straight-cylindrical shank, suitable for drilling alloy steels, stainless steels, and other hard metals requiring cobalt-grade tooling.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with metal-cutting operations. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before starting the spindle and verify runout with a dial indicator when hole tolerance is critical. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for cobalt tooling in the workpiece material being drilled.
