The OSG 8595465 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance metal drilling in production and maintenance environments. Built from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction across a range of workpiece materials. The bit measures 4.65 mm in diameter with an overall length of 68 mm (2.68 inches) and a flute length of 24 mm. The 120-degree faceted point and web-thinned geometry reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation on entry, making it well-suited for tight-tolerance drilling in steel and aluminum applications.
This bit is used in screw machine operations, CNC drilling, and general metalworking where a shorter-body stub-length tool provides better rigidity and reduced deflection. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. The straight-cylindrical shank at 6 mm (0.2362 inches) fits standard drill chucks and collet systems. It is well-suited for machine shop, maintenance, and fabrication technicians working on precision hole-making tasks.
Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Part of OSG Series 1100, rated for high-performance drilling in the 0.1500 to 0.2000 decimal inch diameter range.
Installation of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before beginning a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material, noting this bit does not include coolant-through capability. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate for the specific workpiece material and hole depth.
