The OSG 8595275 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit features a 130-degree faceted drill point and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.00 millimeters in diameter and is sized to fit standard drill chucks and screw machine setups. At 48.00 millimeters overall length with a 16.00-millimeter flute length, it delivers the compact profile expected in screw machine work. The two-spiral flutes follow a regular spiral pattern with a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD, supporting consistent swarf removal during the cut.
This bit is suited for production drilling in screw machine operations, CNC drilling centers, and benchtop drill press setups where a short, rigid drill is preferred over jobber length. It is rated for drilling into steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. The 0.1083-inch diameter places it in the 0.1000 to 0.1500 decimal inch size range, making it a common selection for close-tolerance hole work in precision machined components. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and production operators are the primary installers and users of this bit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production drill bit within the OSG Series 1100 line, suitable for use in screw machine operations and CNC drilling applications involving steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces.
Install in a compatible drill chuck or collet sized for a 3.00-millimeter straight-cylindrical shank, confirming secure seating before operation. Power down and de-energize all machine controls before changing tooling. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and hole diameter before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edge for wear or chipping before each use, as a damaged edge can cause oversized holes or workpiece damage.
