The OSG 8595264 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in a range of metallic and non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit features a 130-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. It cuts right-hand with a regular spiral flute and fits a straight-cylindrical shank. At 0.104 inches in diameter (wire size No. 37), this stub-length bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling operations where rigidity and accuracy are critical.
The 8595264 is a Series 1100 screw machine drill bit intended for use in production and maintenance environments. Its short flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD makes it well suited for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. The compact overall length of approximately 1.81 inches (46 mm) provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in tight-tolerance holes. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics will find this bit applicable across light manufacturing, repair, and fabrication applications.
Designed as a replacement or production-quantity screw machine drill bit for use in standard three-jaw drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 3.00 mm (approximately 0.118 inch) straight shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate per OSG Series 1100 specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operating, and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop-specific lockout/tagout procedures when changing bits in powered equipment. Do not exceed the rated speed for the workpiece material and bit diameter.
