The OSG 8595202 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit features a 130-degree faceted drill point and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.00 millimeters in diameter, and the overall length is approximately 1.73 inches (44.00 mm), making it well suited for short-reach, high-precision work in machine tool setups. The 2-flute spiral design with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio delivers consistent chip flow and stable cutting action in tight tolerances.
This drill bit is intended for use in screw machine operations, CNC drilling centers, and manual drill press applications where compact tooling length and accuracy are required. The 0.0795-inch (2.02 mm) diameter with a tolerance of +0 to -0.014 mm makes it appropriate for close-tolerance hole work in production environments. Typical installers include machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and fabricators working on metal components. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Part of the OSG Series 1100 screw machine length drill line.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Secure the shank fully in a compatible drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed selection based on workpiece material.
