The OSG 8595135 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction during cutting. The bit measures 1.35 mm in diameter with an overall length of 41 mm (1.6142 inches) and features a 140-degree faceted point angle suited for fast, accurate entry on hard materials. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force and improves chip evacuation. This bit is sized for precision work and is typically handled by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This drill bit is intended for use in screw machine operations and CNC or manual drill press applications where short, rigid tooling is required. It is rated for drilling into steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. The 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and chucks designed for metric tooling. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry support consistent chip removal in blind and through-hole drilling.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production tooling option for screw machine and drill press applications requiring a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank and 1.35 mm bore diameter in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum workpieces.
Install this bit into a compatible collet or drill chuck rated for 3 mm straight-cylindrical shanks and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a production run. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before changing tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant recommended for the workpiece material, as this bit does not support through-spindle coolant delivery. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
