The OSG 8595075 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-clearance applications where a compact tool profile is required. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a coated finish, this bit measures 0.0295 inches (0.75 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 1.496 inches (38.00 mm) and a flute length of 0.177 inches (4.50 mm). The 150-degree faceted drill point angle reduces thrust force and entry burr, making it well suited for harder workpiece materials. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration improves chip evacuation and center cutting performance. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and precision fabricators working in production or maintenance environments.
The OSG 8595075 is rated for drilling in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Its screw machine length body — shorter than jobber length — provides greater rigidity and reduced deflection in CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses where stub-length tooling is standard. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 3.00 mm (0.118 inch) diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip clearance on moderate-depth holes without packing. Packaged as a single unit with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces per OSG Series 1100 application guidelines.
This bit should be installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. De-energize and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling. Confirm chuck or collet bore matches the 0.118 inch (3.00 mm) shank diameter before seating. At this diameter, use appropriate low-feed, high-RPM parameters consistent with HSS drill recommendations for the target workpiece material — consult OSG Series 1100 speeds-and-feeds data for specific cutting conditions. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling stainless steel or deep holes.
