The OSG 8556300 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry, making it effective for slot milling, profiling, contouring, and pocket milling. The corner radius geometry distributes cutting forces away from sharp corners, reducing edge chipping and improving surface finish in both roughing and finishing passes. Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 12 mm shank diameter (h6 tolerance). Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for right-hand rotation. Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool-change cycle is complete before handling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout at the tool tip before beginning production cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a corner radius end mill and degrades dimensional accuracy.
