The OSG 84401323 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.5-inch cutting diameter and six flutes, it delivers a high feed-per-tooth capability and a smooth finish on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 43-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during aggressive passes. This end mill features the DUROREY finish, which enhances surface hardness and wear resistance. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, making it suitable for conventional and climb milling on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for production and job-shop machining environments where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. The 1-1/4-inch length of cut (LOC) and 3-1/2-inch overall length (OAL) make it appropriate for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The 0.5-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER and end mill holders. Machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals will find this tool appropriate for medium to high-volume material removal on steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 0.5-inch end mill holders, collet chucks, and ER collet systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation of end mills should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth in the holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and collet nut tightening.
