The OSG 84100323 is a 2-flute solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-precision finishing in hard materials and steels. It features a 0.125 inch mill diameter, a 0.098 inch reach length, and a 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank, with a 2.0 inch overall length. The tool carries OSG DUROREY PVD coating, which increases surface hardness and wear resistance for extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The stub length geometry keeps the tool rigid and minimizes deflection during finishing passes. This end mill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in CNC milling applications.
The OSG 84100323 is suited for milling hard materials, including hardened steels and tool steels, in both roughing and finishing operations. The ball nose profile produces contoured and radius-bottom features. The low, 20-degree right-hand helical flute design is optimized for hard material chip evacuation and surface finish. It is a single-end, non-coolant-through tool appropriate for high-speed CNC machining centers running appropriate feeds and speeds for hard material applications.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Secure the 0.25 inch straight-cylindrical shank in a compatible collet or end mill holder, ensuring proper runout before beginning cuts. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against OSG Series 8410 application guidelines for the target workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the reach length of 0.098 inches for full-diameter engagement.
