The OSG 8330085 is a straight flute machine tap designed for threading M8x1.25 metric coarse holes in hardened steel. It is ground from solid carbide and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, giving it the hardness and wear resistance needed for difficult ferrous materials. Five flutes distribute cutting forces evenly and evacuate chips efficiently in blind or through-hole applications. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole. With an overall length of 70 millimeters and a thread length of 22 millimeters, this tap fits standard machine tool setups. Machinists and toolroom professionals use it in CNC machining centers and production tapping operations.
