The OSG 82101221 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling across a wide range of materials. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 0.015 inch corner radius, and a 1/2 inch length of cut, with a 2.5 inch overall length and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The four-flute, variable helix geometry promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces chatter during both roughing and finishing passes. A Duarise PVD coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in demanding cutting environments. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing for direct plunging where needed.
This end mill is suited for shops and job sites running steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The variable helix design makes it a strong choice for applications where vibration control and surface finish quality are priorities. It fits standard cylindrical toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter and is classified as a stub-length tool, making it appropriate for applications requiring rigidity in tighter setups or shorter reach conditions.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Compatible with ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with end mill toolholding procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped within the toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before operation. Verify spindle runout is within tolerance before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a four-flute carbide tool. Do not use this tool beyond its rated length of cut or at feed and speed parameters outside the machine tool and workpiece material specifications.
