The OSG 7826057 is a solid carbide milling insert in the ZDKT parallelogram style, designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling in metal cutting applications. Coated with TiAlN via a PVD process, it provides heat and wear resistance during cuts in stainless steel and steel. The insert carries an ANSI and ISO designation of ZDKT150508SR-GL, features a positive rake geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge, and delivers up to 0.0630 inches maximum depth of cut per pass. It is installed via screw-lock holding and is intended for use in compatible 78PSE series cutter bodies. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This insert is suited for single-sided, right-hand cutting operations targeting stainless steel as the primary workpiece material and carbon and alloy steel as secondary materials. The GL chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in these materials. The insert size code is 150508, placing it in the size 15 category with an inscribed circle of 0.3661 inches. It fits within the OSG 78PSE series milling cutter platform and is appropriate for precision milling in both production shop and job shop environments requiring consistent surface finish and dimensional control.
Designed for use with OSG 78PSE series milling cutter bodies. Verify cutter pocket geometry and insert seating against the 78PSE series toolholder specifications before installation.
Installation and replacement of milling inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before accessing the cutter body. Use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the screw-lock fastener — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and will crack under excess clamping force. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
