The OSG 661020317 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and hard materials. It carries a 13/64 inch (0.2031 inch decimal) diameter with a 140-degree point angle and an R-thinned web for improved self-centering and reduced thrust. The EgiAs coating extends tool life in demanding applications. At 100.00 mm overall length with a 42.00 mm flute length, this bit fits standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders. Three spiral flutes with a regular helix provide efficient chip evacuation. Licensed HVAC, machining, and metalworking professionals install this bit in CNC and manual drilling operations across production and maintenance environments.
This drill bit is built for cutting steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steel — ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. It supports drilling, self-centering, and cross-hole applications, making it suitable for both precision production drilling and toolroom work. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration handle demanding hole depths. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery when used with compatible toolholders, improving chip removal and tool life at higher feed rates and cutting speeds.
Designed for use in straight-cylindrical shank toolholders across CNC machining centers and manual drill presses. Primary workpiece materials are steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened steel (ISO material groups P, M, K, H). Part of the OSG Series 6610 high-performance carbide drill line.
Install into a clean, properly sized straight-shank collet or drill chuck and verify runout before cutting. Power down the machine and follow lockout-tagout procedures before changing tooling. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the toolholder and spindle are rated for internal coolant delivery and set pressure to the machine specification. Inspect the cutting edge and coating for wear or chipping before each use, as carbide tools are brittle and should not be forced into interrupted cuts without confirming suitability.
