The OSG 653016012 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series 6530 standards, it features a 140-degree split point geometry with X-thinned web construction that reduces thrust force and improves centering accuracy at entry. The EgiAs coating provides enhanced wear resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive and hard materials. At 4.09 mm in diameter with a 55 mm flute length and 115 mm overall length, this bit is suited for deep-hole drilling at a 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat management during high-speed operations.
This drill bit is used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production environments where consistent hole quality and extended tool life are required. The straight cylindrical shank with a 6 mm shank diameter provides secure chuck engagement in standard toolholding systems. It is appropriate for use in aerospace, automotive, mold and die, and general precision metalworking operations. Right-hand spiral flute geometry handles ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight tolerances are critical. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users of this bit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide drill bit for precision drilling operations requiring a 4.09 mm diameter straight-shank tool with a 6 mm shank in standard toolholding chucks and collets.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the straight shank fully in the toolholder or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without appropriate feeds and speeds, or dropping the tool. Always follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed, feed rate, and coolant flow when using coolant-through tooling.
