The OSG 653014912 is a taper length, solid carbide drill bit engineered for high-precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. It measures 0.1496 inches (3.80 mm, Wire Size No. 25) in diameter with a 140-degree split point angle that promotes accurate entry and reduces walking on hard materials. The EgiAs coating improves surface hardness and heat resistance for extended tool life. At 10xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio and a total overall length of approximately 3.94 inches (100 mm), this bit delivers deep-hole capability in a compact package. It features a straight shank and right-hand spiral flute geometry, with coolant-through capability for chip evacuation and thermal management during continuous cycle operations.
This drill bit is suited for precision machining environments including CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production lines. Its solid carbide construction and EgiAs finish make it a strong candidate for drilling stainless steel, hardened alloys, cast iron, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tool life and hole quality are critical. The coolant-through design supports high-speed, high-feed applications where chip clearing and heat dissipation are operational priorities. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops or production settings will find this bit appropriate for tight-tolerance work.
Designed as a taper length replacement drill bit in the OSG Series 6530 line, compatible with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 4.00 mm (approximately 0.157 inch) shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Confirm the straight shank is fully seated and properly clamped in the collet or chuck to the tool manufacturer's recommended holding depth. When using the coolant-through feature, verify coolant line pressure and flow are configured per machine specifications before initiating the cut.
