The OSG 650045211 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from solid carbide with a coated finish, this bit delivers the rigidity and heat resistance needed when working through tough workpiece materials. It features a 29/64 inch (0.4531 inch) diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a right-hand spiral flute configuration. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and thermal management during extended cuts. The R-thinned web reduces cutting force at entry while the tapered web configuration maintains bit strength throughout the flute length. Licensed tradespeople and precision machining technicians rely on this geometry for accurate, consistent hole production.
This drill bit is suited for production environments requiring stub-length rigidity and tight diameter tolerances. The Series 6500 design targets high-performance applications in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and screw machine length body make it well-matched to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and turret lathes where short-reach setups minimize deflection. The straight-cylindrical shank seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet systems.
Designed for use in drilling applications involving steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy workpieces. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet holders compatible with a 29/64 inch (0.4531 inch) shank diameter.
Installation and operation of carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists or tool and die tradespeople familiar with cutting tool setup. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before engaging the cut. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the machine spindle and toolholder are rated for internal coolant delivery before activating coolant flow. Inspect the bit for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide is brittle and should not be used if the cutting edge is damaged.
