The OSG 650037601 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. With a 9.55 mm diameter, a 140-degree point angle, and an EgiAs coating, this bit is built to handle hard and abrasive workpiece materials with consistent accuracy. The right-hand spiral flute geometry and R-thinned point promote efficient chip evacuation and reduce thrust at entry. Coolant-through capability supports extended tool life at higher feed rates. At 106 mm overall length, the stub-style proportions deliver rigidity suited to CNC and production drilling environments. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians working in precision manufacturing.
This drill bit is designed for production drilling in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloys. The screw machine length format provides increased stiffness relative to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for high-volume hole-making on machining centers, CNC drill presses, and turret lathes where runout control and positional accuracy are critical. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio keeps the tool compact while maintaining adequate chip clearance for the material types listed.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and titanium alloy. Part of the OSG Series 6500 high-performance drill line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank fully in a collet, hydraulic chuck, or Weldon-style holder rated for the shank diameter before operation. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance prior to cutting, as carbide tooling is sensitive to eccentric loading. Always follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and shop safety protocols when changing or setting tools.
