The OSG 640-5004 is a solid carbide diamond pattern router bit designed for cutting and routing fiberglass materials. With a 0.5-inch cutter diameter and a 1-inch length of cut, this bit delivers consistent material removal in composite and fiberglass substrates. The drill point end type allows the bit to plunge directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled entry hole. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.5-inch shank diameter, it is sized for use in standard router chucks and CNC routing spindles. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for general-purpose carbide tooling in non-ferrous and composite cutting applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tooling.
This router bit is intended for fiberglass routing applications, including trimming, profiling, and through-cutting of fiberglass panels, composite sheets, and reinforced plastic laminates. The diamond pattern geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during continuous cuts in abrasive composite materials. Operators working with fiberglass should use appropriate respiratory protection and follow shop ventilation requirements when cutting composite materials. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use.
