The OSG 62532 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for production and maintenance drilling in steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and aluminum alloys. The bit is ground from vanadium high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating that reduces friction and extends tool life in high-cycle applications. The 130-degree split point uses an S-thinned web configuration that promotes self-centering and reduces the thrust required to start a hole, eliminating the need for a center punch in most setups. With a 3.2 mm cutting diameter and 68 mm overall length, it fits standard keyless and keyed drill chucks used in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC drilling centers.
This bit is suited for blind hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, and general through-hole work across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 4.00 mm shank diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks. It is appropriate for job-shop, maintenance-repair, and light manufacturing environments where a consistent, accurate small-diameter hole is required. The regular spiral flute geometry provides good chip evacuation in both manual and machine-fed applications.
Designed for use in standard drill presses, CNC drilling machines, and hand drills accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for cutting steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpiece materials per OSG Series 1600 specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or trade professionals familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling to protect the cutting edge and maintain hole tolerance. Do not exceed the recommended feed rate for the workpiece material, as TiN-coated HSS bits are sensitive to overheating from excessive feed without coolant. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling stainless steel or hard alloys.
