The OSG 61525 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a coated finish, it features a 2.50 mm (0.0984 inch) diameter, a 130-degree faceted drill point, and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.00 mm in diameter, and the overall length is 46.00 mm (approximately 1.81 inches). The compact screw machine length profile makes it well suited for close-tolerance drilling where rigidity and precision entry matter most.
This drill bit is rated for cutting steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate, making it a versatile choice for machine shops, toolrooms, and production environments. The Series 1100 designation places it in OSG's high-performance line. Right-hand spiral flutes with a regular spiral type clear chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. The short flute length of 14.00 mm supports stable, chatter-free performance at the smaller diameter ranges.
Designed for drilling steel, stainless steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Fits standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck are fully powered down and locked out before loading or changing the bit. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before drilling, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on small-diameter bits. Coolant through is not supported on this tool; apply external coolant or cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material.
