The OSG 5460400 is a cobalt square end mill designed for material removal in metalworking and machining operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it provides greater heat and wear resistance than standard HSS tooling, making it well suited for harder steels, stainless, and abrasive alloys. The 5/16 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 3/8 inch shank, a 1-3/8 inch length of cut, and a 3-1/8 inch overall length. The 30-degree spiral helix and 4-flute geometry promote chip evacuation and deliver a fine surface finish on finish passes. This is a center-cutting tool, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
