The OSG 5270100 is a cobalt square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling, making it suitable for cutting harder workpiece materials at moderate to elevated speeds. The cutter measures 0.125 inches in diameter with a 0.375 inch length of cut and a 0.375 inch shank diameter, keeping the overall length at 2.375 inches. A 30-degree helix angle and two spiral flutes promote efficient chip evacuation. This end mill is centercutting, so it can plunge directly into material as well as perform peripheral and slot milling. It is uncoated and used as-received from the factory.

This tool is suited for light-to-medium milling work on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials where cobalt tooling is preferred over carbide for interrupted cuts or setups with less rigid fixturing.
