The OSG 4900600 is a corner chamfer end mill designed for chamfering and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Built from cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers solid heat resistance and wear life in demanding cutting environments. The 4900600 features a 0.625 inch cutting diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle that promotes smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The bright uncoated finish keeps the tool ready for use without additional surface treatment. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production machining, or maintenance settings will find this tool suited to standard chamfering work on milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is applied in milling operations where controlled edge chamfering, deburring, or angular profile work is required. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding flexibility to the tool path. The 0.625 inch shank diameter and 4.125 inch overall length make it compatible with standard ER and straight-shank tool holders found on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling setups. It is well suited for steel, cast iron, and similar materials where cobalt-grade tooling is a common specification.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style end mill for standard 0.625 inch straight-shank tool holders, collet chucks, and ER-style holders used on conventional and CNC milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the end mill. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper tool seating. Follow machine manufacturer torque specifications for the tool holder style in use.
