The OSG 48106433 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built on the Series 4572 platform, it features a 3 mm diameter cutting edge with a 0.80 mm corner radius and five flutes ground for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. The tool carries a WXS PVD coating, which improves wear resistance and thermal stability during high-speed passes. With an overall length of 55 mm, a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank, and a 30-degree medium helix, this end mill is engineered to handle both roughing and finishing operations across a range of difficult workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters install this tool in standard toolholders.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extended-reach neck design, with a 12 mm reach length and a 2.70 mm neck diameter, allows access to features in tighter geometries without sacrificing rigidity at the cutting zone. The 1.20 mm length of cut and normal pitch configuration make it well matched for fine detail work and corner-radius profiling on precision components in aerospace, die and mold, and general machining environments.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight shank. Primary workpiece material classifications include P (Steel), M (Stainless Steel), K (Cast Iron), S (Superalloys and Titanium), and H (Hard Material).
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the controller in a safe state. A licensed machinist or CNC operator should verify toolholder bore size, runout, and clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before operation. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the 1.20 mm length of cut. Inspect the cutting edges and WXS coating condition before each setup to confirm no chipping or coating delamination is present.
