The OSG 464-4375 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for general-purpose milling operations in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. It features a 7/16 inch cutting diameter with a 2 inch length of cut, giving machinists the reach needed for deeper slotting and profiling work. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. With 4 flutes and a spiral flute geometry, this end mill is built for right-hand cut and right-hand flute operation. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and wear resistance required for consistent performance in production environments.
This end mill is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous machining operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The long-length configuration with a 4 inch overall length makes it appropriate for applications requiring extended reach into pockets, slots, or stepped profiles. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. Machinists working in job shops, tool rooms, and production facilities will find this tool appropriate for steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials at conventional speeds and feeds for uncoated carbide tooling.
Designed as a standard 7/16 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 7/16 inch shank diameter on CNC or manual milling equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Verify that the toolholder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to achieve proper runout. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against the tool manufacturer's recommendations for the specific workpiece material before initiating a cut.
