The OSG 46079 is a round threading die designed to cut external metric coarse threads on iron and steel workpieces. It features an M6x1 thread form with a 25 mm outside diameter and a 9 mm thickness. Manufactured from high-speed steel, this die is built to withstand the demands of production and maintenance threading operations. The adjustable design allows for fine-tuning of thread fit and cutting pressure, extending tool life and improving thread quality. Right-hand thread cutting makes it compatible with standard die stock holders and die handles used in general machining and fabrication environments.
This die is suited for threading M6 fasteners, studs, and rod stock in metalworking applications including machine shops, maintenance and repair operations, and manufacturing facilities. It is part of OSG Series 135 and is intended for use on iron and steel materials. The compact 25 mm OD fits standard die stocks designed for that diameter. Licensed machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians working with metric fastener systems are the primary users of this die.
Designed for use on iron and steel. Fits standard die stocks and die handles that accept a 25 mm OD round die. Intended for cutting M6x1 metric coarse external threads.
This die is installed into a compatible round die stock holder that accepts a 25 mm OD die. Secure the die firmly in the holder before beginning thread cutting. Apply appropriate cutting fluid to the workpiece when threading steel or iron to reduce heat buildup and extend die life. Inspect the die for wear or chipping before each use and do not exceed the cutting capacity of the die stock being used.
