The OSG 457104111 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding CNC machining applications. It features a 4 mm cutting diameter with a 0.2 mm corner radius, 4 helical flutes at a 45-degree high helix angle, and a 6 mm length of cut. The tool is coated with OSG WXS, a PVD coating designed to extend tool life and reduce heat buildup when cutting ferrous and hard materials. With a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank and an 80 mm overall length, it fits standard toolholders used in vertical and horizontal machining centers. This end mill is centercutting and rated for both roughing and finishing passes.
This end mill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It is well suited to precision contouring, slotting, and profiling operations where corner integrity and surface finish are critical. The extended reach design, with a 20 mm reach length and a 3.80 mm neck diameter, allows access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. Machinists and toolroom operators working in job shops, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing will find this tool appropriate for tight-tolerance work on ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials corresponding to ISO groups P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a compatible toolholder sized for a 6 mm shank. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck bore is clean and within specified runout tolerances before seating the tool, as runout directly affects corner radius accuracy and tool life. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate parameters are set per the machine shop's established feeds and speeds for the target workpiece material before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or use the tool in toolholders not rated for its shank diameter class.
