The OSG 452-6250 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. With a 0.625 inch cutting diameter, 1.25 inch length of cut, and 3.5 inch overall length, this single-end tool delivers consistent geometry across a wide range of workpiece materials. The 30-degree right-hand spiral helix and micrograin carbide construction provide sharp cutting action and edge retention during demanding milling operations. Centercutting capability allows for plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. This end mill is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
The 452-6250 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and other non-ferrous materials, as well as hardened materials. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose applications where a coating is not required or where cutting fluid provides sufficient lubrication. The regular-length profile fits standard tool holders and collet chucks used in vertical and horizontal machining centers, as well as manual knee mills. The 0.625 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter for a straightforward toolholder setup.
Compatible with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials as indicated by primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and H. Fits standard 0.625 inch collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is clamped securely in a properly sized collet or end mill holder before beginning any operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting to maximize tool life and surface finish quality. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines when setting tool offsets and depth of cut parameters.
