The OSG 447102711 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. With a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 0.06-inch corner radius, and four helical flutes, it delivers controlled material removal while reducing edge chipping on difficult workpieces. The tool carries a WXS PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition, which improves wear resistance and heat resistance during aggressive cuts. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank, this single-end, centercutting tool fits standard toolholders and is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The high helix geometry and micrograin carbide substrate make it appropriate for shops running CNC machining centers where tool life and surface finish consistency matter. The extended reach configuration, with a 1.5-inch reach length and a 0.488-inch neck diameter, allows access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool operating at normal pitch with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through capability.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch cylindrical shank. Shank diameter tolerance is h6. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per OSG Series 4471 application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Confirm shank seating depth and runout before initiating a cut. Machine spindle and all axis motion must be fully stopped before changing or inspecting the tool. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material being machined.
