The OSG 414-0938 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance at small diameters. It features a 3/32 inch cutting diameter, a 3/16 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch shank diameter with a 1-1/2 inch overall length. The four-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This stub-length end mill is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into workpiece material. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and light pocketing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a small-diameter tool is required. The stub length geometry provides added rigidity at the 3/32 inch diameter, making it appropriate for close-tolerance work in confined features. Do not over-torque the collet nut, as this can distort the collet bore and damage the shank. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing tooling.
