The OSG 414-0469 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in demanding production environments. With a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) length of cut, this tool is built for small-feature work where accuracy is critical. The micrograin carbide substrate provides excellent wear resistance and edge retention at this scale. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, and the 4-flute geometry delivers a good balance of rigidity and surface finish. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes in confined geometries.
The OSG 414-0469 is suited for milling centers running ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces requiring fine detail and tight tolerances. Its stub-length configuration minimizes deflection, making it appropriate for applications where overhang must be kept to a minimum. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets on CNC machining centers and manual mills, keeping setup straightforward for shops already running similar small-diameter tooling. This is a single-end, uncoated tool intended for direct use or as a baseline for shops that apply their own coatings.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collets on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Part of the OSG Series 414 stub-length square end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut to the machine manufacturer specification. At this diameter, even minor runout will significantly affect tool life and cut quality - verify runout with a dial indicator before production runs.
